Digital Signage, a Roadmap.

Many ask us how we do it, well the process of implementing digital signage can be broken down into a simple roadmap. By doing this, we stay organized with a well-structured plan which leads to a smooth execution. When digital signage is executed correctly, increased customer satisfaction happens along with far greater sales than traditional paper media. Read on to see our industry-tested roadmap.

Step 1.  Strategy

The first stop on this journey is to identify what your strategy is. By focusing on what it is that you can do for customers that others cannot is a crucial element of the strategy. Also part of this step is performing a self-assessment to gain an understanding of what the goals are. This will ensure goals are kept realistic to your capabilities. Failure to be aware of limitations will, in fact, hinder the overall result. The strategy is the crucial first step in order to continue down the road of creating a memorable digital experience.

Step 2. Creative

Depending on who you talk to, creative is arguably the most important stage on the roadmap. During the creative process, many important characteristics are decided, such as content direction and vision, site design, and what will contribute to effective brand management. The heart and soul of what is going to be displayed on the screens will be decided and designed here. Digital signage is much more than the hardware you see on the wall and must be thought about in a creative way. The creative side provides a unique identity for the customer allowing them to stand out against their competitors.

Step 3. System Design

Once all of the creative details have been decided on, the next step on this roadmap is system design and process. The first task is to conduct a site survey with the purpose of understanding the physical environment. Many factors can and will influence the system and need to be accounted for from the start. As an example, it is important to identify any recent changes around the site that could affect the installation. Once the site survey has been it is time to create the system design. The last task in this roadmap is to complete the process of ordering and procurement of hardware and equipment. Setting up the hardware and testing the design in-house is a must before install begins. High quality and unique system designs are the result of rigorous testing and are crucial to the process.

Step 4. Project Management

Now for the details. Assigning roles and designating duties to conduct the install, upload content, and installation preparation are all components that make up project management. Failure to complete any of these tasks will potentially result in inefficiency and can result in a poor installation. The benefits of a clear process are crucial to providing a good experience to customers.  Well rounded project management also doubles as contingency planning for any issues that may arise during the installation process.

Step 5. Installation

All the work you did in the last step will be felt here. You will be thanking yourself, believe me. Ideally, it will help guide the installation and help solve any issues that may come up. Once install is completed, the last operation to conduct is a final test to ensure everything is in working order. Any issues that arise can then be sorted straight away which ensures a good customer experience.

Step 6. Remote & on-site support

The managed service side, which includes new content creation, account management, and remote and on-site support for implemented systems. This process includes the actual handover of the system to the customer and implementing customer service procedures and functions. On-site and remote support are key services that ensure everything is in working order, contribute to the make up of effective customer service.

In our experience, this digital signage roadmap paves the way for an effective digital experience. To ensure that your digital solution is installed and utilized to its full potential, each stage in the process should be given careful consideration.
